Frequently asked questions.

WHAT IS EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement desensitization and reprocessing.

This therapy involves moving your eyes, with my guidance, while you process traumatic memories or life events. It allows us to desensitize the emotions attached to the traumas and start creating some space for new, healthier memories and behaviors.

For more information please don’t hesitate to give me a call.

WHERE DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR SESSIONS, CAN YOU VISIT ME?

I am conveniently located between Northampton and Milton Keynes. Just a short drive from Junction 15 of the M1 motorway.

Home visits can be considered for some people such as people suffering from extreme anxiety, agoraphobia or for those with a disability. But these are assessed on a case by case basis.

Please note that should I need to travel an additional fee will be charged.

ARE THERE ANY POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS FROM THE TYPES OF THERAPIES YOU DELIVER?

Please keep in mind that you may need to set time aside to process and consider any changes that you make as a result of the therapy, you may also leave feeling tired and may need to rest after a session. During some therapies you may feel the release of strong emotions as I help you work through and tackle the problems you are being treated for.

There are no known medical side effects from EMDR.

WHAT IF MY PROBLEM IS EMBARRASSING?

Please be assured you that you will never be judged in any way, regardless of any issue whether this is personal, sexual or anything you deem to be embarrassing. I will always be sensitive and calm to your situation.

Everything discussed is entirely confidential and strict codes of ethics are adhered to.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Once I understand what it is you want from your therapy I will do my very best to give you guidance on the number of sessions needed.

My primary consideration is resolving your problem as quickly as possible, my approach is to get to the root quickly and deal with it.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

I try to be as flexible as possible and look to accommodate any unforeseen changes, as I understand that life is unpredictable. However if cancellations are received within 24 hours of our appointment a penalty may occur.

Please note that clients who frequently cancel or late show will no longer be accommodated.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES AND HOW DO I MAKE PAYMENT?

A £25 non-refundable deposit will be requested upon booking your first appointment, this fee can be made by bank transfer. The remaining amount for your treatment can be paid either by cash or bank transfer at the end of our session together or in advance if you prefer.

I charge a fee of £70 per session, however session charges are dependent on the level of treatment needed. In some situations a package of sessions is offered and in others individual sessions are sufficient. There is also a different price for smoking cessation treatments.
